Born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. Retired as Deputy Chief from the Joliet Fire Department after 34 years service. A US Navy veteran, served during the Cuban Conflict, 1959-63. Lee and his wife Jean have 6 children and 7 grandchildren. Home is shared between Sun City West, AZ (Jan-Apr.) and Joliet (May- Dec.) A member of the Chicago Accordion Club, the Arizona Club and the Sun City Club.
Lee started playing accordion at age 6 and had to stop around age 10. He out grew his accordion and only found out recently that his father could not afford to get him a bigger one. Career, raising a family, sometimes working three jobs and finishing college sidelined the accordion for a while. His interest was rekindled about ten years ago, when someone at work gave a friend a used accordion and this friend started to ask Lee questions. Bingo the kindling was re-ignited.
Lee currently has a 4-piece band back home in Illinois called “The Too Loud Polka Band”. The band does Cleveland style polkas, waltzes, and standards.
The band is already booked for 35 gigs, and usually does 60 – 70 jobs a year. Check out the attached songs from our recently released CD.
